Hi,

When highlighting an icon representing a file in the main kfm window,

the file's full name (or URL) cannot be copied to the clipboard.

In other words:
Right click | Properties | General tab | "File Name"
is available but
"Full Name"
Cannot be copied to the clipboard.

A possible workaround is:

To get the full name (URL), one has to open an editor session
and combine the values of the Location field in the kfm main window
with the "File Name" field of the properties dialog.

Important note:
kde has a feature (which is possibly an unintended side effect)
that lets the user copy the URL of the current file in MOST current
applications to the clipboard via the File | "Save As" dialog,
because it is displayed AND highlighted in that dialog.

This is a VERY useful feature.
Windows 3.1 had this feature, too, but it was removed from Windows95
and NT. I hope this is not going to happen in any future kde release
unless a substitute for this functionality is provided.

Windows 95 and NT let users add an item "Send to Clipboard as Name" to
the right click context menu in Explorer, only.
This requires the installation of additiona software.

One might argue that adding context menu items such as "Open in your
favourite application" could solve the problem in an easy way but:

It is not generic and causes a nightmare depending on kow many
applications are installed on the system.

I hope that in future for every object e.g. file in the operating
system there is a handle that can be managed by the user independent
of context (e.g. drag and drop is such a context but who has the time
to arrange windows as required and to deal with the frustration when
applications do not support it).
