Hi, I'm reporting this since it seems to be a KDE bug.

Under KDE, my video card ( CL Voodoo Banshee, using Darrly Straus
drivers ) displays
.jpgs and .gifs in BW in 32 bit color mode. I first found this after a
FRESH install of
Mandrake 6.0.. My Voodoo Banshee worked fine in 24 bit color, all but
netscape, the icons displayed an ugly black only.. This is a noted
netscape bug in 24 bit color.
So I changed my card to 32 bit color. This fixed the netscape problem.
But broke kde. I could open an image with Gimp and all was well. Using
K Image viewer, the image was B&W.. So was .gif wallpaper under KDE..
All the berries and other backgrounds were black and white. Booting
into GNOME ( w/ Mandrake ) color was fine.
Until I opened a KDE/QT app under gnome.. B&W..

I have run 32 bit color with Mandrake 5.3 with the older KDE fine. No
problems.
This seems to be a problem in the version included with Mandrake 6 (
1.1.1 I believe ).

Thanks
Alan
