1. In the minipager applet klick: Pager Options->Desktop Wallpapers
2. Right click the desktop background: Configure Desktop->Background and change the \
picture

Now every desktop shown in the minipager updates properly on mouseclick, except the \
desktop '1' (the most left  one). Changing the background again does nothing, it \
simply stays grey, the other backgrounds update on mouseclick. 

Increasing the number of desktops (e.g. 4 to 6) leads to 4 grey backgrounds (no \
update on mouseclick) and 2 backgrounds, which update properly.
