Summary: Import of vcards with Non-ascii unicode characters
                    results in strange letters
           Product: kaddressbook
           Version: unspecified
          Platform: SuSE RPMs
        OS/Version: Linux
            Status: UNCONFIRMED
          Severity: normal
          Priority: NOR
         Component: general
        AssignedTo: tokoe kde org
        ReportedBy: frank_fischer gmx de

Version: (using KDE KDE 3.4.2)
Installed from: SuSE RPMs

Hi,

when I have a vcard containing special german characters like ü, ä, ö. They are \
not properly imported in kaddressbook and result in some strange asian characters. As \
an example, when I import a vcard containing character ä (hex-unicode: #C3A4), I \
would get the strange asian character. Furthermore exporting it as vcard 3.0 results \
in the strange hex representation of #EFBE83EFBDA4 of the new character. When I \
change the character within kaddressbook to the proper ä, it is exported correctly. \
In the KDE version contained in SuSE 9.2 it worked properly.

Thanks for your help,
Frank Fischer.
