The real  thing is, it's *much*  cheaper to build  a redundant transit
path  with  linux boxen  running  zebra than  with  a  bunch of  cisco
routers. Individually they  don't have to be so  reliable as long they
are collectively reliable.

That being  said, I've found the  zebra BGP implementation  to be very
reliable  for both  IPv4 and  IPv6. The  OSPF implementation,  OTOH, I
haven't found  to be that  stable, and its  a bit tricky to  get going
right.
