Key: XMLBEANS-29
Summary: JDK 1.3.1 backport: replace 1.4 regex and regex-like behaviour
Type: Improvement
Status: Resolved
Priority: Major
Resolution: FIXED
Project: XMLBeans
Fix Fors:
Version 1.0.3 (jdk1.3 port)
Versions:
Version 1
Assignee:
Reporter: Matt Bishop

Description:
XMLBeans uses JDK 1.4 java.util.regex.* classes to do string replacement. It also \
uses 1.4-only String methods to do the same.
Instead of adding a new jar, the existing regex engine in XMLBeans is used to do the \
string grepping. It requires a minor modification of the build script to include the \
xmlbeans regex package in the common.classes build target, as well as an inclusion of \
the common classes to the repackaging target.
A new Class, StringUtil, was created to replace the functionality of the 1.4 String \
methods.
