Hello,

I have a new devel release that now includes a rpm
spec file. If you would like to try it out, you can
find it at:
http://www.web-insights.net/xinetd-2.3.6rc7.tar.gz.
This is not an official xinetd release...its only my
development files.

To install, you should type:

rpm -tb xinetd-2.3.6rc7.tar.gz

and it should build the binary package. I'm interested
in hearing if there are any problems. The spec file is
created such that it will not over-write your xinetd
configuration. At this point, I don't want to write
configurations for all the services so they are simply
not included. The package DOES over-write the
/etc/rc.d/init.d/xinetd file. The one provided gives
more commands than the one normally distributed. If
this causes problems for anyone, let me know.

If you see improvements to this spec file, let me
know...it was created completely from scratch, so
there probably are improvements.

Have fun,
Steve Grubb
