System info:
Sunfire V240
Solaris 8
Storage Foundations 4.0
On one of my Netbackup servers (lab system) I've got a process belonged
to vxvm called vxsvc that seems to be misbehaving.
This machine has been running for about 18 months, and this only started
last week.
When the system boots, the process appears consuming 65M of memory.
(which is the same as all of my other Sun/NBU/VxVM boxes which are
behaving.)
On this particular machine after about 48 hours, it's grown to the point
where it's consumed all 2GB of physical memory, and all the configured
swap.
The machine hangs hard, and has to be powercycled.
If I kill the process, the system continues to work fine, except you
cannot use the VEA GUI....which isn't normally a big deal....if I *need*
to run it, I can start vxsvc, do what needs to be done with VEA then
kill vxsvc again.
One of these days, I'll have time to work on resolving it, but for now,
it's just a nuisance.... has anyone seen this before?
Paul
