Heartbeat timeout is 16 seconds. there will be no hopping about.
VCS 1.3.1 is the current version on HP. No issues there.

I'm looking at around 5Km. Don't we need to increase the heartbeat pulse to
prevent the cluster pair from "hopping" about?

BTW, I'm using 1.3.1 as EMC only qualified this version for HP-UX 11.0. Any
issue over ver 2.0?

Place the high pri heartbeat on the dedicated link.
Place the low-pri on the link shared with the virtual IP.
You should not need to touch any heartbeat timing parameters. What kind of
distance are we talking here? VERITAS will support out to 10KM on VCS.
Further will require PS involvement.

Thanks to those who had responded.

So can I conclude that running both the virtual and heartbeat on the same
card NIC (NIC1, see below) is feasible.

Furthermore, this is actually a WAN clustering (between th primary and DR
site), any issue? What should be the recommended heatbeat pulse rate.

VCS Virtual IP
