Ok, what I've done, is that I reconstructed 68328serial.c for 2.0.38-990904
but WITHOUT my patches. After that I applied only the patches that I think
is essential:
1) A fix that enables the driver to get all characters out of receive
FIFO during a single receive interrupt. This is necessary if you
want to run the serial port at high speeds on the real hardware.
(Notice, that Xcopilot shows that the speed is about 5 BogoMIPS
on my 300 MHz PII, but the real CPU shows about 1.40)
2) A fix for change-speed() function. There was a bug that prevented
it from seting B57600 and B115200 correctly.
No other changes were applied. One specific thing that I want to handle is
RTS/CTS. On M68EZ328ADS board CTS and RTS are not connected to DB-9 connector.
I have the code to ignore it, probably I'll create another config parameter.
Please, try the attached file with Xcopilot and let me know whether it works
or not (use uclinux-2.0.38-990904). Also make sure USE_INTS is #undef'ed.
If everything gose fine, I'l submit this as a good starting point.
Best regards,
Vladimir
