POSITION AS PROJECT LEADER ON ROBUST NETWORKS

Simula Research Laboratory seeks project leader for a research project on
Robust Networks.

Simula Research Laboratory conducts basic research in the fields of
communication technology, scientific computing and software engineering. Our
aim is to carry out research of the highest quality, educate graduate
university students and create new businesses. The research will focus on
fundamental scientific problems with a large potential for important
applications in society. Education will be delivered in partnership with the
universities in Norway. Simula will actively support, and create the
conditions necessary for, the establishment of businesses based on the
research it conducts. The laboratory is located at Fornebu, 10 minutes drive
from the center of Oslo, the capital of Norway. Consult www.simula.no  for

"Robust Networks" is a basic research project that will focus on Network
Resilience in a broad sense.  The project will run for five years, starting
in 2006, and it has a basic funding of 27 million NOK (approximately 3.5
million Euro or 4 million USD) over five years from the Norwegian Ministry
of Transport and Communications.   We are seeking a senior researcher to
lead the project, both scientifically and administratively.  The chosen
candidate will have significant influence on the scientific direction, as
well as responsibility for the scientific outcome of the project.  

The candidate should hold a PhD, and should have a strong publication record
in areas related to networking.  Administrative experience as well as
experience in leadership should be documented.

brief description of research interests, a copy of five of the most relevant
