Call for Papers:
International Worshop on Application of Data Mining to Security Control
http://sip.qcwireless.net/

The objective of this workshop is to provide a forum for the data mining
researchers and industrial practitioners to discuss the timely and
critical issues related to the application of data mining techniques to
security control. We invite technical paper submission, and are
particularly interested in the papers that will focus on at least one of
the following areas while we also welcome papers in other related areas:

1. Multimodal sensor fusion techniques for multi-factor authentication,
their roles in intrusion detection and forensic analysis, and their
implications on privacy and security.

2. Biologically based fusion approach for intrusion detection (e.g.,
artificial immune system approach) and its potential for industrial
grade enterprise deployment.

3. Application specific intrusion detection techniques; e.g., VoIP.

4. Simulation, gaming, and modeling approach for discovering the true
underlying distribution of normal user and intruder behavior.

5. Evaluation metrics for intrusion detection and forensic analysis that
could reveal information for economic modeling on business impact.

6. Cross domain application of anomaly detection techniques such as
public health alert and epidemic viral prevention, and data mining
research leading to a better understanding of the balance between
privacy and the need for sensitive data/information sharing.

All papers are subjected to a process of peer review on their merits
based on originality, clarity, significance and impact (on the field),
contribution to the theme, and implication for industrial practice.
Accepted papers will be published in the proceeding of the 2006
International Conference on Data Mining. In addition, this workshop has
reached an agreement with the editor-in-chief of the Journal of Data and
Knowledge Engineering (DKE) by Elsevier. Papers meeting pre-journal
quality and criteria will be invited for further revision, re-review,
and possible inclusion in the Journal of DKE.

The deadline for the paper submission is March 1, 2006. All papers should
be submitted by email to sc2006@bunny.cs.qc.edu no later than March 1,
2006. PDF and Microsoft Word are the preferred formats for the
electronic submission. Please contact Dr. Bon Sy at bon@bunny.cs.qc.edu
if you have any question.
