Unknown, if it happens again, I will try that.

Basically, nothing helpful.  The log.bak ended immediately after an
upload of an email at 1600+ hrs, the log started at 0400+, which is when
the program was restarted, and nothing showed in between, which is
incorrect since it should have shown polling every 10/15 minutes.

It wasn't run from a command line, so I cannot say.  I have just
re-started it, nothing came up.

Just re-started it, with debug output redirected to a log file.  I will
leave it like that for a few days.

No.  Never seen before, and have been running Sylpheed for several years

Perhaps one more bit of information, I don't think it has anything to do
with News, since I use news, my wife does not, and we both locked up.

I will advise if it occurs again.
