Hello,
I'd packaged & installed swatch-3.0.4 on my NetBSD-1.6 loghost and I
encounter a problem with my regexps I think : when a message contains a
star, swatch(8) replaces it by the result of ls(1) in the current directory
I launched it.
For example, when swatch(8) reads the followin line :
Feb 19 02:16:50 mybox nmbd[19014]: [ID 702911 daemon.error] *****
I get :
Feb 19 02:16:50 mybox nmbd[19014]: [ID 702911 daemon.error] amanda sudoers swatchrc
Ok, swatch(8) interprets the '\*', but I don't undertsand why... Any idea ?
Many thanks

Hi,
I'm a new Linux user trying to install Swatch. After downloading swatch-3.0.4.tar.gz \
and unpacking it to /, I started the install with 'perl Makefile.PL' and received \
the errors:
Warning: prerequisite Date::Calc 0 not found at (eval 1) line 220.Warning: \
prerequisite Date::Parse 0 not found at (eval 1) line 220.Warning: prerequisite \
File::Tail 0 not found at (eval 1) line 220.
I received a message (comment ) that I should install the CPAN Bundle so I did that. \
Now when I try to start the install with 'perl Makefile.PL' I get ONLY the \
Date::Calc warning. When I try to install Date::calc, I get the following :
(ommited)
Malformed UTF-8 character (unexpected non-continuation byte 0x61, immediately after \
start byte 0xed) at root/.cpan/build/Date-Calc-5.3/blib/lib/Date/Calender/Profiles.pm \

I don't know what to do next, . if you can offer any assistance it would be greatly \
appreciated! If you can tell me which files to remove, perhaps I could start over \
with a fresh download. seems something is corrupted with the Date::Calc install ???
Thanks in advance!
dave
