Or we can set offensive terms them as our official jargon to refer to our user 
market segments.  It will convince casual readers that we are complete 
assholes and stop them adding noise to productive discussions.

I propose the following segmentation (British humour alert!):

"Cold-Dead-Hands" - Users with an instinctive hatred of anything new we do.  
Doesn't consider an openSUSE version stable until the following release has 
superceded it, then complains about the length of maintenance.   Still 
upgrades every 8 months like everyone else.

"Stable Sheep" - Installs a new release, removes PackageKit, Apper and 
PulseAudio then only updates Firefox and Thunderbird and KDE:ExtraApps until 
the next release.

"KDE Fanboy Version Whore" - Wants the latest upstream stable release on the 
same morning the release is announced.  May perform cybersex acts to get it.

"Bleeding Gits" - Anything not from master is obsolete but kdesrc-build is too 
scary. Spends 4 hours a day pulling rebuilds from OBS, 4 hours a day 
troubleshooting broken IM clients and browsers on IRC, 4 hours on 
bugs.kde.org, goes to bed and repeats the next day.  Bugzilla.novell.com is 
beneath them.

Joking aside, the way to win this discussion with the maximum number of 
satisfied users and hence the most potential contributors to improve things, 
is to recognise that our users have different demands on us.  Cold-Dead-Hands 
will never be happy, the best thing to do is politely ignore their complaints.  
Bleeding Gits satisfy their own needs.  If we can find a way to keep the two 
middle groups fed without burning ourselves out with work so we have time to 
fix the odd bug and innovate to make openSUSE interesting and relevant, we're 
good.
