Thanks for the report & patch.  bash_completion also failed for me, with the
same errors, w/ "GNU bash, version 2.05b.0(1)-release (i386-pc-linux-gnu)".

This patch appeared to do two different, unrelated things.  It fixes the syntax
problems with "@($SomeVariable)", but it also removes options from various commands.

I committed the syntax fixes in r15902.  I didn't understand the other changes;
they appear to be removing support for certain options from commands that do
support those options (?).  I'm resolving this issue as FIXED now; please reopen
if there is a reason why those other changes are necessary.

By the way, it's okay to mail the dev@ list directly with patches for stuff like
this.  See http://subversion.tigris.org/project_issues.html for why we prefer
not to file an issue until we've analyzed a problem on the list.
