+ If a repository is auth-protected for commits but not for checkouts/updates,
+ then if you check out what you intend to be a committable working copy
+ but you mistype your password (or username for that matter), svn will
+ not complain but happily check it out.  After all, it's just a read
+ operation, right?  Trouble is, you think you're all set to commit, and
+ then it turns out your auth info is all bogus later.
