i explained the problem in an earlier mail
autoinstalls work fine on clients with Intel 845GL chipset (e100 network =
card driver)
but i am having problems with new clients which have SiS 650 chipset =
(8139too network card driver)
we have redhat 9 on the imageserver and the clients (unluckily not =
debian)

the clients are unable to configure their network cards with dhcp
the dhcp server gets the request and offers an ip address
ifconfig shows that they don't have an ip address
but i am able to do the network configuration from the commandline
nonetheless i can't get a connection, i can't ping anything

what are possible reasons for this problem?
the network cards of these clients work under redhat
the network cards are onboard
might it be that my network chips have a problem with the 8139too driver =
in the boel kernel?
if this could be the cases, where can i get more information how to =
build systemimager from the source tarball?
is it possibel to build it with other kernels than kernel-2.4.20?

i would be glad to hear what you think about this problem
any help is greatly appreciated
thanks
