Yes, I ran into the identical problem. The only way to get around it that I
know of is to use IBM's xlc
compiler rather than gcc. While using the xlc compiler will get you past
this problem, you will run
into the next problem involving compiling login.c. I posted this problem
earlier today. I hope this
helps.

I'm having a problem with getting ssh to build on AIX:

gcc -DPACKAGE=\"gmp\" -DVERSION=\"2.0.2-ssh-2\" -DSTDC_HEADERS=1
-DHAVE_RANDOM=1 -DSIZEOF_INT=4 -DHAVE_ALLOCA=1 -I. -I. -I.. -I./.. -g
-O2 -c udiv_w_sdiv.c
udiv_w_sdiv.c: In function `__mpn_udiv_w_sdiv':
udiv_w_sdiv.c:125: fixed or forbidden register was spilled.
This may be due to a compiler bug or to impossible asm
statements or clauses.
make[2]: *** [udiv_w_sdiv.o] Error 1

Has anyone seen this before? Ideas?

I've built ssh on plenty of platforms, but this the first time
I've ever seen anything like this...
