You don't actually have to convert anything Shariq. You just need to
change the permissions on it. I suppose the easiest way to do that
would be:

chmod +x filename

Don't forget that installing that package is not the end of your Java
install. This guide although a little old will help you setup your
environment.

I have downloaded java runtime environment for Redhat
linux 9.  But the file name ends with rpm.bin.  Can
anyone please tell me how to convert this file into an executable file
so that I can install it?
