This is actually a good point. But in my eyes it would be more helpful if the
editor would show you the error directly in the code, i.e. underline some non-
closed tag or any other kind of invalid markup. Look for example at the PHP
and CSS plugins for KDevelop.

And to debug the actual appearance tools like Firebug are much more helpful,
as they operate "on the whole". I could never have used the preview for this
step of debugging, since my templates don't know what CSS they get etc. pp.

But anyways: I will only remove the code to playground so if anyone else steps
up they can bring it back. It's just probably something I won't have the time
for during GSoC, esp. given that I'm not particularly interested in it.

I like that acronym :)

I have to get my hands on Quanta 3, I have no clue what those tabs did :D

Such kind of help for editing is a must-have in my eyes. But I'll do it
differently than in Quanta3, now reutilizing the imo awesome Snippet support in
Kate. Of course this requires the ability to associate shortcuts with
snippets.

Here you mean the "outline" of the document, correct? I'd personally also like
to have something more "visual" compared to the QuickOpen outline we have
right now. Lets see whether I can get that in.

Kate has all that, and we reuse it.

see above, probably not going to happen in my GSoC

Try out KDevelop's latest beta. You'll see all that is already available and
together with features like QuickOpen even more powerful than ever.

See above, I plan to integrate some inline error checking. But this will never
be 100% correct. For that, one should simply use tools like
http://users.skynet.be/mgueury/mozilla/

I will probably not integrate it, since such static tools don't make much
sense when you edit templates with both, PHP and HTML in it.

Yes, I concur. This is a very helpful feature.

Thanks for your input!
