yes.

you can stick with all your kde4/gnome/whatever programs and just
install quanta from trinity in addition, which will of course pull in the 
necessary librarys - those go to /opt/trinity and will not interfere with 
your kde in /usr - they will not even be loaded as long as you don't start 
quanta.
