Sorry for the delay in replying.

I've appreciated the efforts everyone has put into Quanta, and it has
been one of the main reasons I have not upgraded to KDE 4.X on Debian
Unstable (I'm running Debian Unstable but have kept KDE 3.5.9/3.5.10 as
my desktop environment).

I bought a new pc nearly a year ago (AMD64 dual core with on-board
radeon 3200hd) but still use a PII-266 purchased in 1998 with RAM
increased to its maximum capacity of 384 MiB, because it is quieter, has
lower power consumption and runs all applications I would want to apart
from watching videos. (I have even done kernel git-bisects and
transcoded a video to DVD format and written the DVD on this machine).

To switch to KDE 4.X, I'd need Quanta to run acceptably including the
ftp kioslave.

I'd like to support moving Quanta towards that goal as a non C++
programmer who is nonetheless happy to compile and build test versions
and file bug reports and even perhaps contribute cash to developers.

Arthur.
