Hopefully the answer now is: yes it is fixed. :) 
I'd like to see some tests though from you before I decide how to go on.
So check out the 3.5 branch as I wrote in a previous mail and try it.
If it works, I most probably will create a 3.5.9 or 3.5.8a release, as 
unfortunately this fix missed the upcoming KDE 3.5.8 release.
And if it works and those who wanted to see it fixed are happy, well, 
you know that you can donate to us. ;)
