Preview in a normal browser while running it throught apache. Either way the 
look you think the page have and the factual one is far apart. That depends on 
the rendering engine of course.
I think Eric mentioned something about a wrapper last month here (with a lot 
of work for sure). I've always used a mix of apple's khtml and gecko 
versions, to get the right mix of it all. 

Putting php into the vpl seems like a good deal of vaste of effort; manly 
because of; how to handle if's since they tend to change the look of the 
complete page and even more databases. one pulldown menu, nicely inserted and 
accurately fitted in with say, 2000 dynamic options. will REALLY SLOW the 
bugger down, and at the same time look different in all other browsers.

of course smart solutions is always welcome.
Quanta is what makes webdesign and large project possible.
