A few weeks ago i had the following discussion with Andras.
sorry for the time it took me to post it, but various things managed to
detain me till now...

Andras:
are you saying that quanta's autocomplete is gets in your way
when you write such code?  that would be weird, as in PHP, the  
autocompletion
is deactivated, the option list appearing only when the user explicitly
requests it (CTRL+[SHIFT]+SPACE).
