Good Morning List,

I have been plying about with getting this to work for about four weeks
now and I am at the last little bit which I cannot get working.

I have configured my pam.d files to use pam_ldap.so but at first it did
not seem to be doing anything. However after installing and running
tcpdump I find that it is indeed contacting the server, but it is does
not seem to be getting the information it requires back to authenticate
the login.

I know that I can contact the AD server because ldapsearch works and I
can get the field that is required for the login.

Is it possible to get the pam_ldap.so library to give me some
information as to what is going on? I have tried to append debug to the
end of the line but this does not seem to do anything. Is it a switch
during compilation that I need to set and if so what is the switch.

I am running Linux with OpenSSL, Cycrus-SASL and Berkeley DB 4. I have
also installed nss_ldap (but I do not think that is required as I am
trying to use pam rather than the nsswitch.conf - apologies if I am
wrong).

If anyone has any advice on this i would be most grateful.

Regards,

Russell Seymour
