It is a 3.3.x-problem - it has been refered to on this list earlier. 

The problem is a script setting the default route - it assumes 'route'
is in PATH - but it isn't.

The file in question - as mentioned 2003-12-04 by Bill Napier (thread
"default gateway problem with.."):

/usr/share/udhcpc/default.script

s,route,/sbin/route,  and everything should work. I wonder why this
hasn't been fixed yet.. :)
