Hello everyone,
I use the tc and ovs to controll my traffic, and I find they can
all controll the traffic, but I want to compare the "CPU power
consumption", so I use the "top" command. As a result , here is my
comparison:

tc in eth0, 30mbits bandwidth:

PID USER PR NI VIRT RES SHR S %CPU %MEM TIME+ COMMAND

6331 libvirt+ 20 0 4523196 297560 9444 S *13.1 *2.5 0:30.90 qemu-system-x86

**

*ovs-vsctl in openvswitch*, 30mbits bandwidth:

PID USER PR NI VIRT RES SHR S %CPU %MEM TIME+ COMMAND

6442 libvirt+ 20 0 4528428 299548 9444 S *3.4 *2.5 1:17.71 qemu-system-x86

The result is tc consume about 10% while ovs only have 3%, I repeated
the test several times, and the results are very similar. Does anybody
know the reason?
