The point is that (AFAIK) Novell doesn't do support contracts for 11.0. 
You are comparing a RH with a support contract with a distro that doesn't 
offer them. Therefore your friends would later reject 11.0 on the basis of 
not being possible to obtain that support contract, and the dazuko problem 
is moot.
