A new method for moving has been implemented by Aaron to allow you to move any 
item in the panel, menu and other plasmoids included.  First, click on 
the 'cashew' on the right-hand end of the panel to pop up the panel config 
panel (you know, the thing with the left and right alignment icons and arrows 
to change the panel size).  Now you will find that when you mouse over any of 
the plasmoids or icons on the panel the mouse pointer changes into a 4-way 
arrow and you can click and drag the item whereever you want on the panel.  
I'm guessing the rmb option may return at a later date, and probably also the 
ability to drag them off the panel, but it's still a work in progress.

That's why they're called developement betas, features are liable to 
change :-)
