The move to Xorg 7.x would be nice on legacy operating systems. An update across \
Solaris 8/9/10/11 to Xorg 7.x based on the same build. This makes building video \
drivers for those OS releases much easier for legacy 2D SPARC-based platforms and \
cross-platform support.

Yet, you'd have to consider having a nice modern X desktop to benefit the upgrade \
(and time to develop/maintain/ROI).

If you want high-performance OpenGL graphics, the wiser long-term investments are now \
the Nvidia-based products....
