Yes ! Of course : the Solaris users and musicians makes like i : one Solaris \
partition as principal, a second partition under Linux especially for the music \
composition (Rosegarden at first), because the API. But this design is only a wait \
solution.

Yes yes yes : and RG is yet a great thing, everyone can see (and heard :D !) this, \
that is certainly a lot of work everyday, a simple look at the devel-forum or at the \
programms makes that easy to understand : but the real problem isn't an OS problem, \
only an API problem. ALSA, aRTs, Jack, OSS... I mean that the port concerns only a \
part of the developpers.

Very interessant : Stefan Teleman, the moderator of the kde-Solaris list (adaptation \
from each version of KDE to make it compilable not only with GCC, but also with the \
Solaris native compiler) told me (that appears yet on the Opensolaris forum) that \
he's working on a native Solaris driver making the OS able to accept Jack as API, if \
i good understood : in this case, RG could work directely on Sol without ALSA, only \
with Jack wich has, as you know, low latency itself. If it works for the next version \
of Sol10, the task will for you "only" :D to make the RGsequencer able to work with \
Jack only, as it was considered in this forum a year ago, if i good readed any tread \
about this with anyone OSX user.

As conclusion i repeat : my idea is not Solaris for Solaris ; simply the reality is \
that RG is yet the best in the domain, so good as Cakewalk on W..., and it could be \
damage that it rests unavailable on most Unix systems. It begun, if i good remember, \
on Solaris and Irix...

Cheers,

Sergio.
