Why do you want this? I use a different Heading style for my Preface,
for example, that has no numbering and chapter headings from then on.
I set up my TOC (the only place it seems essential) using the different
style and set for the same "level" in printing. The unique heading is
"linked with" Heading 1 so the same format options appear in all
headings. Do the same for the Appendices.
