Greetings,

I've run into a weird problem which I have not seen reported yet in the
archives. Ever since installing KDE 3 (from RPM) on this RedHat 7.2
machine, OpenOffice Applications refuse to run for non-privilidged users -
they still work for root. The issue is the same regardless of whether
641c or 641d were installed. I don't know if this actually has anything
to do with KDE, but it is the only difference that I see since before
the installation everything worked the way it was supposed to. The
symptoms are:

* after a -net install, it runs the workstation setup correctly the first
time. Any followup attempt to run a openoffice results in the installation
repair dialog.

* after a non -net install, any attempt to run the application results in
an .sversionrc incompatible with current release error. This is clearly
incorrect as the .sversionrc is identical to the one used by root (who can
run any application).

Any pointer as to what could be going wrong would be much appreciated.

Jason
