Try removing "/usr/X11R6/lib/X11/fonts/latin2/Type1" and any other paths you

Restarting X should do the job.  No need to reboot.  Note: that on default
redhat 7.x installs, logging out and back in will restart the X server.

It is a font problem.  Well no...let me say this...if you can make the
spreadsheet look better doing a select all and playing with the font face and
size then it's a font problem.  More specifically, a problem with the way
OpenOffice handles font problems.
