What is the printing layer/spooler you're using under Suse?  LPRng? 
CUPS?  Perhaps the newer version of Suse uses a different printer driver 
that doesn't work as well for your printer.

Also, is this an OOo specific problem?  How do the margins look when you 
print from Mozilla?
