Hi everyone,

I am delighted to formally announce that Glow milestone 0.1 has been
released in both source and binary form.

There are many fixes and small enhancements over the version that
was initially made available a week ago.

I would like to thank my team for their hard work over the last
6 months: in alphabetical order:

Charlie Dong - UI
Jerry Tan (part-time) - JCAPI ICS backend
Richard Li - Calendar model

We have a lot of work to do, including much architectural clean-up,
performance work and completing features in the next 5-6 weeks
leading to the 0.2 milestone.

I expect that we will have a public WCAP calendar server available
for you to try by Wednesday next week.

I hope you will try it, report bugs, suggest fixes, and work with
us to develop the application features that the current team are not
working on:

- mail
- instant messaging
- file/ftp/http folders, including WebDAV

Some OOoGW contributors have already been made developers;
I hope that anyone who is interested in becoming a developer
or who is one will come forward and talk about what they want
to do; concrete proposals and code are the best kinds of contribution!

We are also interested in talking with companies who want to plan
a pilot; we are not ready to begin one now, but we want to talk
to the future users of Glow to understand their needs and give
them the chance to influence our priorities.

Thank you for your patience, it seems like a long time since the
OpenOffice.org conference, but we made it and now that we are rolling,
the pace is going to accelerate! Please don't be shy about
seeking a role in this project, Glow is officially *open*!

Colm.
