** [tickets:#123] TI Tiva EK-TM4C1294 launchpad broken**

**Status:** new
**Milestone:** 0.9.0
**Created:** Fri Mar 18, 2016 09:51 PM UTC by Balazs Racz

**Owner:** nobody

Hi,

I compiled openocd at 0.9.0 from git checkout (at tag v0.9.0) and I could not connect \
to the TI tiva connected launchpad. By bisecting the git history I have identified \
the change that caused the breakage:

064dc5daaccec5ba569d46aee0e9291352300d8b tcl/target/stellaris: Snowflake supports \
SYSRESETREQ too https://sourceforge.net/p/openocd/code/ci/064dc5daaccec5ba569d46aee0e9291352300d8b/

The error is the following:

(-snip-)
Error: memory write failed: 0x7
Error: memory read failed: 0x7
Error: jtag status contains invalid mode value - communication failure
TARGET: tm4c1294ncpdt.cpu - Not halted
in procedure 'reset'
in procedure 'ocd_bouncer'
(-snip-)

If I check out 0.9.0, roll back this CL, build, then it works again. I don't know why \
it causes the failure.

There are more surprising things in the printout as well. Openocd 0.9.0 claims that \
it is using RCLK - adaptive speed, which I doubt because the RCLK pin is not wired up \
in the TI launchpads to the ICDI. Similarly I don't see an SRST wired up in the \
launchpad's circuit diagram, which might explain the fatal error too.

thanks,
Balazs
