J,
you nagios auto generated explains the problem the trap event that the
opennms reads is (per your example):
Log Message: Received unformatted enterprise event
(enterprise:.1.3.6.1.4.1.20006.1 generic:6 specific:7). 4 args:
.1.3.6.1.4.1.20006.1.3.1.2="lhm-wks-ubuntu" .1.3.6.1.4.1.20006.1.3.1.6="SSH"
.1.3.6.1.4.1.20006.1.3.1.7="2" .1.3.6.1.4.1.20006.1.3.1.17="Connection re...
however I see not corresponding matching trap event on your xml file
(generic,specific are wrong), I am attaching my WORKING XML with nagios ,
In addition the below is the nagios command I use to send trap that matches
the trap event on opennms:
snmptrap -v 2c -c public xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx "" NAGIOS-NOTIFY-MIB::nSvcEvent
nSvcHostname s "$HOSTNAME$" nSvcDesc s "$SERVICEDESC$" nSvcStateID i
$SERVICESTATEID$ nSvcOutput s "$SERVICEOUTPUT$"
In addition I hope you added the nagios xml file to eventconf.xml ... other
wise it will never work , with my file attached you will need to add the
below entry to the eventconf.xml
<event-file>events/nagios.events.xml</event-file>
Hope it helps
Kobi.

All of the data generated in your IT infrastructure is seriously valuable.
Why? It contains a definitive record of application performance, security
threats, fraudulent activity, and more. Splunk takes this data and makes
sense of it. IT sense. And common sense.
