No, that is false.
A lot of ports currently use bzip2, and bzip2 is obviously in ports,
from where it's installed when needed. So this is not a problem at all,
it just adds 1 additional dependency.
So if there's only bz2 available, then so be it - we already have the
infrastructure to deal with it.
Now please stop this discussion.
