I'm attempting to use an old version of net-snmp, due to size limitations.

coyote # /usr/sbin/snmpd -V
cmu-snmp for Linux v3.6b7; Nov 1998
http://www.gaertner.de/snmp/ -- The Linux CMU SNMP Project

(Tarred & zipped it's only 112k)

When starting the snmp daemon I get this:

coyote # /usr/sbin/snmpd
snmpd: cannot determine local hostname; reason: Success

Can I just declare the hostname somewhere? I realize this old stuff isn't
supported but I thought someone might have an idea. Typing 'set' at the
command line shows that HOSTNAME=coyote.
