Hi!

The current problem is that we have had too much to do to have time to 
look at this.  It's still only on the planing stage :(

MERGE tables do work, but for the moment they are only usable for
table scanning.  It would take someone 3-5 days to add key support to
this.

We are just now trying to find more full-time developers for the MySQL
server to be able to do this (and much more).
