You can't turn them off completely can you?  Best you can do is set to
"once
a month" surely?

I also noticed today that all our video streams are making a second
request
for a SMI (SAMI) file whenever we stream them.  I don't think this would
apply to your situation as you are playing from a local disk :(

clip had any embedded links in it]
