Scott,

I'll download the drivers and see what happens. Will let you know but
pretty sure our speed problem is isolated to files encoded on my machine
which has the Crystal chipset.

It seems one thing I am seeing here is the Crystal Chipset and driver
versions can play a big factor here.

Make sure you are using the latest crystal drivers you can get them from
http://www.crystal.com/drivers/audio-d.htm

or check with the OEM of your equiptment.  I would go straight to the
source normally in this case it is the crystal site above.

I have seen these drivers correct some problems with the encoder in
machines using the CS4236 chipset.
