Windows CE has certificate management functions and base crypto functions since \
version 3.0. However, as you observed, it lacks some of the high level messaging \
functions (PKCS#7) because of space constraints. Depending on your application you \
may be able to use CryptSignHash to achieve your goals. Obtaining the private key \
from the certificate is not too difficult- CryptAcquireCertificatePrivateKey will do \
that. Thank you,
George Joy

Subject: CryptoAPI in WinCE
Hi all,
I'm developping a Cryptographic application for a PDA which uses the O.S. WinCe, and \
I get some problems using CryptoAPI. First of all, Win CE provides the typical \
Certificate Stores (MY,OTHERS...) and it is possible to install there certificates \
using cryptoAPI. There exist also the functions CertOpenStore, and \
CertFindCertificateInStore, but it is not available the function CryptSignMessage \
(and others), so currently I must use the function CryptSignHash for signing. But \
using that function I have to acces the private key through the key containers \
instead of using directly the certificate.
Does anybody know if there is any way to sign using the certificate? And, when it \
will be a full version of CryptoAPI available for WinCe, may be in the Win CE.NET \
version??
Thanks in advance.
