gcc4 isn?t available in mingw, even if it has been out for a while.

Paths with spaces are issues with most software not specific to windows.
In addition we do not support using the tools in Eclipse. Feel free to
help us upgrade the version we will accept your request to add a mingwPORT
for gdb. Please submit your gdb port to the mingwPORT submission tracker
at the SF project site. To help you get started with mingwPORT please
check our the portmaker module from CVS. Ask questions within the
mingw-users list.

YES IT IS!!!!!!
Does somebody active work on mingw any more or not? I don?t mind if not,
especially because it?s not for money, but perhaps you should write this
at the homepage that you seek another maintainer.
mingw is the only(!) good free compiler for windows, so if you ask for
help at the homepage perhaps you get some. But it?s sad that important
party like gcc or gdc aren?t updated for years.

I don?t think this has something to do with eclipse. Apart from that
mingw is the only free toolchain which can be used with eclipse, so why
don?t you support that.
Apart from that I?ve submitted several bug reports and the only thing I
got was always "do it yourself". Why don?t you close the bugtracker at
all?

Open source is maintained by volunteers who are interested in providing
the software. Not everyone is interested enough to provide patches. We
will support those who want to supply a working version by allowing the
package to be submitted to our download site.

We don't support your use of our software in eclipse itself even though we
support the software you can use in eclipse. We can't support everything.
There are only a few of us who actively do anything. GDB just happens to
fit the case where someone once upon a time was interested and supplied a
patched version for download but hasn't been interested enough to continue
with upgrading it and no one else has found the time or been interested
enough either.

It is open source so that everyone who is interested enough can provide
patches and support the software. I'm sorry if you feel cheated by the
fact that no one has found time to modify it. Everyone seems interested
enough to complain but no one seems interested enough to stop complaining
and supply an updated package.

As for the bug tracking system, I have recently become very narrow-minded
toward the submissions to the bug tracker. Bug reports lacking quality or
relevance to someone within MinGW actually being able to deal with a
situation will be closed or redirected to another tracker.

Ok so do you mean that basically parts of mingw are dead while others
aren?t?
I didn?t want to sound rude or something, I?m actually involved in
open-source software myself but I wonder what?s up with mingw, this is
THE toolchain for windows, and nobody is maintaining it. Perhaps I?ll
have a look if nobody works on up-to-date versions :)
