This was previously working using 2.6.11-2mdk kernel and the test modules posted
here, but I'm seeing the same problem again with the new kernel (2.6.11-3mdk).

Why weren't the new modules included in the new kernel package?

After upgrading to the 2.6.11.1mdk kernel, alsa now hangs when being stopped,
including on shutdown, when attempting to store mixer settings.  Running
"alsactl store" works fine when done manually.

Also, KMix is unable to start, which may or may not be related.

Running on a SBLive (snd-emu10k1) and Nforce2 (snd-intel8x0).
