description:
I opened and closed the lid of my VAIO PCG GRV616 notebook
using the up4GB kernel :
Linux edovaiomdk 2.6.8-0.rc2.2mdk-i686-up-4GB #1

where lilo had the append option
resume=/dev/hda6
(added by the installer)

note that hda6 is also my swap partition (approx sized to 1.3 GB with 1GB ram).

the machine suspended to disk, then apparently resumed once but actually
re-suspended itself just after X was starting to show the windows ...
and since then resume hangs on the 'waiting for DMA to settle' message.

using the rescue boot, I removed the
resume=/dev/hda6
option from lilo.conf and left waiting for a suspend/resume mechanism that
really works.
