Using beta2. The module for my Ens1371 card are not even loaded anymore.
[vedran@localhost vedran]$ cat /etc/modprobe.conf
# This file is autogenerated from /etc/modules.conf using
generate-modprobe.conf command
alias sound-slot-1 es1371
remove snd-via82xx /sbin/modprobe -r snd-pcm-oss; /sbin/modprobe --first-time
-r --ignore-remove snd-via82xx
install snd-via82xx /sbin/modprobe --first-time --ignore-install snd-via82xx
&& { /sbin/modprobe snd-pcm-oss; /bin/true; }
alias eth0 8139too
alias sound-slot-0 snd-via82xx
install usb-interface /sbin/modprobe uhci-hcd; /bin/true
After using sounddrake to configure the Ensoniq card to use ALSA I get this:
[vedran@localhost vedran]$ cat /etc/modprobe.conf
# This file is autogenerated from /etc/modules.conf using
generate-modprobe.conf command
alias sound-slot-1 snd-ens1371
remove snd-via82xx /sbin/modprobe -r snd-pcm-oss; /sbin/modprobe --first-time
-r --ignore-remove snd-via82xx
install snd-via82xx /sbin/modprobe --first-time --ignore-install snd-via82xx
&& { /sbin/modprobe snd-pcm-oss; /bin/true; }
alias eth0 8139too
alias sound-slot-0 snd-via82xx
install usb-interface /sbin/modprobe uhci-hcd; /bin/true
remove snd-ens1371 /sbin/modprobe -r snd-pcm-oss; /sbin/modprobe --first-time
-r --ignore-remove snd-ens1371
install snd-ens1371 /sbin/modprobe --first-time --ignore-install snd-ens1371
&& { /sbin/modprobe snd-pcm-oss; /bin/true; }
remove es1371 /sbin/modprobe --first-time -r --ignore-remove es1371
install es1371 /sbin/modprobe --first-time --ignore-install es1371
Another words it's now trying to load both ALSA and OSS module for this card?
However lsmod reveals that only ALSA is loaded:
[root@localhost Documents]# lsmod

description:
I have two sound cards: on-board integrated VIA AC'97 and additional
SoundBlaster PCI 128 (with Ensoniq chipset). I don't really use VIA, it's
crap, but it can't be disabled in BIOS.
Both cards are recognized and can be configured but only one is initialized on
boot. Each time I run sounddrake this changes, e.g. one time it's VIA the
other it's SB. Here is a part from /etc/modules.conf
alias sound-slot-1 snd-ens1371
above snd-via82xx snd-pcm-oss
alias sound-slot-0 snd-ens1371
above snd-ens1371 snd-pcm-oss
E.g. snd-ens1371 was entered two times. Obviously, line 1 should be:
alias sound-slot-1 snd-via82xx
I'm downloading the latest drakxtools to test, but it might take a while :)
P.S. draksound component is missing from bugzilla
